Degen Terminal chose Definitive Flash for its multi-VM EVM & Solana support, advanced order types, and non-custodial architecture
“We built Degen Terminal for traders on chains that professional tooling ignores. Definitive Flash let us ship limit orders, stop loss, take profit, and TWAP across Solana and BNB without building keeper infrastructure or compromising on custody. It turned a multi-month infrastructure project into weeks of integration. Next we’re expanding advanced orders across every chain we support and wiring them into our AI signal engine.”
— Kelvin, Founder, Degen Terminal

Highlights

  • Degen Terminal, a multi-chain, AI-native trading terminal with 2,000+ active users, brought live advanced order types (Market, Limit, Take Profit, Stop Loss, TWAP) across Solana and BNB Chain through Definitive’s Flash API.
  • Genuinely non-custodial. Degen Terminal uses embedded wallets and never holds user funds; assets stay in the user’s wallet until execution, a hard requirement Flash met without compromise.
  • Weeks, not months. Keeper infrastructure, persistent order state, and dual-VM signing would have been a multi-month build with ongoing maintenance. Flash compressed that into weeks and removed the maintenance entirely.
  • Invisible plumbing, EVM & Solana support. Users see one dropdown with five order types on any Solana or BNB token. They never see Flash. They see a terminal that behaves like a real exchange.
  • Refocusing on Degen Terminal’s unique feature-set. Time not spent on keeper infrastructure went into the Alpha Cockpit signal engine, wallet UX, AI-native features, and the wider DegenTools ecosystem.

What is Degen Terminal?

Degen Terminal is a multi-chain, AI-native trading terminal covering Solana, BNB Chain, TON, and Robinhood Chain. It serves active onchain traders and beginners, largely in emerging markets, who were stuck choosing between primitive swap bots and professional tools that either don’t support the chains and assets they actually trade, or are too complex to navigate.

But a terminal that only swaps is still a swap bot with a better interface. The gap between that and professional-grade trading is the order types traders take for granted elsewhere: limit orders, stop losses, take profit, and TWAP, the tools that let someone set a price and walk away instead of watching charts all day. Building for that gap onchain, across chains with fundamentally different architectures, is what Degen Terminal set out to do.

The challenge: advanced orders are an execution product, not a feature

Limit, take profit, stop loss, and TWAP orders each require persistent offchain order state, keeper infrastructure to monitor and fire them at the right moment, and non-custodial signing that never puts user funds at risk. That combination is a complex trade execution product in its own right, not a checkbox feature to bolt onto a swap interface.

Multi-chain support made the problem harder, not just bigger. EVM and Solana have fundamentally different signing models: EIP-712 typed data on one side, Ed25519 signing plus SPL delegation, ATA setup, and wSOL wrapping on the other. Building and maintaining separate order-management systems for each would have meant duplicating the hardest part of the product, and its maintenance burden, for every additional chain.

The solution: Definitive’s Flash API as Degen Terminal’s order execution layer

Definitive is the leading onchain trading platform for pro-traders and institutions, built by Coinbase Prime and Tagomi alumni. Flash API exposes that same execution engine, including its advanced order types and dual-VM support, to teams building trading products on Solana and EVM chains.

One order contract across two signing models

Flash gave Degen Terminal a single order contract that works across both EVM and Solana, despite their different signing models. That meant one integration to build and maintain instead of two parallel order-management systems, one per virtual machine, each with its own edge cases and its own maintenance surface.

True Non-custodial infrastructure, even for conditional orders

Degen Terminal uses embedded wallets and, by design, never holds user funds. Genuinely non-custodial execution, where assets stay in the user’s wallet until the moment of execution, wasn’t a nice-to-have; it was a hard requirement Flash met directly. Coverage across Degen Terminal’s two primary chains with the same order types meant not having to integrate separate providers for EVM and Solana, and the integration was additive: Degen Terminal filled real gaps in its product without tearing out working swap infrastructure to do it.

EVM & Solana support

BNB Chain shipped first, with all five order types placing live trades. Solana followed with the full SVM flow: ATA setup, sponsored delegation, Ed25519 signing, and submission. Order management, listing, status tracking, and cancellation, came next. The architecture runs Supabase edge functions proxying Flash behind Degen Terminal’s own auth, with signing handled client-side against keys the user holds.

One dropdown, five order types, invisible plumbing

Flash shows up directly in Degen Terminal’s trade panel: one dropdown on any Solana or BNB token, with Market, Limit, Take Profit, Stop Loss, and TWAP all powered by the same API. Built alongside it are a spend-asset selector that lets users trade with USDC, USDT, or native assets using Flash’s flexible contraAsset parameter, an Open Orders panel with live pending, filled, and cancelled status and one-tap cancellation, and a unified stablecoin view in Portfolio that deploys straight into any Flash order. Users never see Flash. They see a terminal that behaves like a real “exchange”.

Engineering resources refocus on Degen Terminal’s unique features

Keeper infrastructure, order state management, and dual-VM signing would have been a multi-month build with ongoing maintenance if Degen Terminal had built it alone. Flash compressed that into weeks and removed the maintenance entirely. That freed engineering time for the Alpha Cockpit signal and scoring engine, wallet UX, AI-native features, and the wider DegenTools ecosystem, including token launch, site building, and community tooling: the parts of the product that make traders choose Degen Terminal over a swap bot in the first place.

What this unlocks

Degen Terminal has 2,000+ active users, and advanced orders are now live for all of them across Solana and BNB. The feature set went from market swaps only to five order types on both chains, plus full order management.

The product impact is straightforward: users now get automated exits and time-weighted execution on assets where that tooling usually doesn’t exist, which is the whole reason they’re trading on a terminal instead of a swap bot in the first place.

What’s coming next

Degen Terminal’s roadmap is next to expand advanced orders across every chain the platform supports, including TON and Robinhood Chain, and to wire those order types directly into its AI signal engine, Alpha Cockpit, so signals can translate straight into automated, time-weighted execution.

Definitive’s mission is to bring professional-grade execution to everyone, and Flash API is how that capability scales beyond Definitive’s own terminal. Degen Terminal was able to leverage Flash to use a single order contract holding up across genuinely different virtual machines, EVM and Solana, inside one product.
