“We built Night Desk on Flash because the primitive we needed already existed - a bracket order that ships the exit with the entry, and a fee that routes itself. That let a solo builder ship a product where every mirror lands protected, and where the person who wrote the plan gets paid for it. Flash does the trading; we get to spend the week on the part that matters, which is whether a stranger can look at a link and trust what it says.”
Precious Nwachukwu, Founder, Night Desk
Night Desk turns a trade idea into an URL anyone can use to execute the trade, with automatic upside and downside protection built in.
Today, a good trade idea dies in the feed. Someone posts that they think Nvidia is going up, and that they know where they’d be wrong. The post gets likes, and nothing else happens.
That’s because reading a trade idea and acting on it are separated by myriad decisions: how much, when to enter, where to take profit, where to cut, on which chain, and with which wallet. Night Desk saw two main problems; The person who generated the trade idea is paid nothing for it. And the people who believe in them have no easy way to act on the trade.
Night Desk closes that gap with one object: a trade plan in the form of a link. The plan carries the asset, the entry, a take profit, a stop loss, and a position size expressed as a percentage of whoever opens it. It costs nothing to publish, and the plan lives in the URL itself.
Open someone’s plan and Night Desk re-quotes it against your own wallet, at your own size, with your own bracket. You sign, and the position lands with its protection already in place. Every mirrored trade is a real order with a real fee, and a share of that fee goes to the plan’s author. The person who generated the idea gets paid every time somebody acts on it.
Night Desk was built by one person in one week. For a team that size, the execution layer behind a product like this isn’t just difficult, it’s impossible.
Advanced orders like Take Profit and Stop Loss require complex infrastructure:
Night Desk estimates the in-house build would have taken months. Then the maintenance is forever. Instead, Night Desk integrated Flash and had a working product in a week.
Definitive is an onchain trading platform for pro traders and institutions, built by Coinbase Prime and Tagomi alumni. Flash API exposes the same execution engine that professional desks use on Definitive’s terminal.
Bracket is Night Desk’s core primitive. One Flash quote returns two signing payloads: the entry, and the take profit and stop loss pair priced off the user’s own execution. A mirror is two signatures, and the position lands protected.
Each mirror is independent. Every user holds their own entry and their own exits.
Night Desk also uses Limit orders, and TWAP when a plan calls for an entry over time. Each order type is one parameter away from the others on the same API.
Night Desk’s business model is simple: 25 bps per order, with 60% credited to the plan’s author. Flash makes that possible without a contract. Night Desk sets a per-order integrator fee, and Flash collects it at execution and routes it to Night Desk’s account. Night Desk never touches user funds.
Night Desk’s product is rooted in trust. That trust is easiest to demonstrate with infrastructure that reports what really happened onchain.
Flash returns full trade history alongside execution, so Night Desk reads executions, fees, and transaction hashes straight back from the venue. A proof panel links every mirror to BaseScan. A public board ranks plans on realized P&L from settled trades. A plan adherence readout compares what each wallet actually ran against the trade plan’s strategy.
Night Desk plans cover tokenized equities like Nvidia and Google on Base. Flash supports any token with onchain liquidity, including tokenized equities. It aggregates 900+ DEXs and onchain liquidity sources across 15+ chains on EVM and Solana, finds the most competitive route at execution, simulates the trade before execution, and applies MEV protection along the way.
Users approve once and sign each order. Funds stay in the user’s wallet until an order is executed, then settle back in a single atomic transaction. Night Desk never holds user money, and neither does Definitive.
Night Desk had the full trading core working within the first two days: quote, order, bracket attachment, and fee reconciliation. The Flash quote response describes itself well enough to build a trading UI directly on top of it, and the two-payload bracket meant the whole mirror flow could be designed around two signatures.
With Flash handling execution, order state, and fee routing, the week went into everything that makes a plan readable and trustworthy to a stranger:
Night Desk is a week old and deliberately ran on small sums during the build. The full loop works and is verified onchain.
Night Desk is built to spread. Every trade plan in the simplicity of a link, every mirror generating revenue to its author, and every result provable onchain. As more people publish plans and more wallets mirror them, Flash handles every order at scale.
Definitive’s mission is to bring professional-grade execution to everyone. Flash API is how that reaches beyond Definitive’s own terminal and mobile app. Wallets, apps, and AI agents can plug into the same smart router, the same advanced order types, and the same multi-chain coverage that institutional desks rely on, through one API.
Night Desk shows how far that goes. One builder, in one hackathon week, shipped protected social trading with distribution incentives built in.
